Lapse stores your records on your device. We do not operate an account system or a server database for your records. The app has no ads, bank linking, cloud sync, or third-party analytics.
01 Who we are
Lapse is made by Gamada, an independent app studio. This policy covers the Lapse Android app and this companion website.
For privacy questions, email support@gamada.app.
02 What stays on your device
Lapse stores the information you add in local app storage using IndexedDB. This includes your records, titles, dates, notes, groups, amounts, reminder settings, and attached photos. It also stores preferences and information needed to manage your local backups.
Gamada does not receive these records through an app server. Lapse does not ask you to create an account, connect a bank, scan your email, or upload your records to a cloud service. Fonts are bundled with the app and website, rather than loaded from a third-party font service.
Your records stay on the device where you use Lapse. Changing devices does not move your records. Clearing app storage or uninstalling the app can remove local data. Keep your own backups of anything you need.
03 Photos and notifications
Photos you choose
You may select a photo to attach to a record. Lapse processes and compresses the selected image on your device and keeps one photo per record in local storage. It does not scan your photo library or upload the photo to Gamada.
Reminders you allow
On Android, Lapse requests notification permission to schedule local deadline reminders. Android controls permission and notification delivery. You can manage notification permission in Android settings and reminder preferences in Lapse. These reminders do not require a notification server run by Gamada.
04 Backups and sharing
When you choose to export a backup, Lapse creates a Markdown file containing records and groups, without photos. You can import this file back into Lapse. Full backup with photos is not available in this release.
On Android, you choose where to send or save the file through the system share interface. If you save or share it through another app, service, or recipient, they handle that copy under their own terms and privacy practices. A backup may contain personal information from your notes and records, so choose its destination carefully.
You can also choose to copy or share a draft note. Information you choose to send in a backup, a note, or a support message is shared because you selected that action. Support messages are received and used to respond to your request.
Android’s automatic cloud backup is disabled for Lapse. The app does not provide cloud sync. Exported files and any copies you make remain under your control.
05 Removing your data
You can delete individual records in Lapse. Settings also includes Erase everything. In this release, this action stays locked while attached photos are stored. Remove attached photos before using it.
You can remove local app data through Android’s app-storage settings. Uninstalling the Android app also removes its local app storage. These actions can permanently remove records and photos that you have not saved elsewhere.
Deleting data from Lapse does not delete an exported file, a shared note, a download, or a copy held by another app or service. Delete those copies separately wherever you saved or sent them. We have no server copy of your app records to recover or delete for you.
06 Using this website
The landing and privacy pages do not open your Lapse record database and do not use advertising or third-party analytics.
When you visit the website, its hosting infrastructure necessarily receives technical request information, such as your IP address, the requested address, and browser information, to deliver the pages. The hosting provider may process operational or security logs under its own practices. This is separate from the app’s on-device records.
